The headline feature of this [[Chinon]] 35mm point & shoot was the infrared autofocus system, lending the camera its conspicuous "bug-eyes." The headline feature of this Chinon 35mm point & shoot was the infrared autofocus system, lending the camera its conspicuous "bug-eyes." Film winding was also motorized, and the camera required two AA batteries to power all its subsystems. All this technology came with some weight penalty (the camera is 410 g, or nearly a pound—almost double that of an Olympus XA).

The InfraFocus 35F-MA has a 38mm f/2.8 lens billed as being a four-element design, focusing down to 0.9 m (2.9 feet).

The camera was also sold by Foto-Quelle as Revue 600 AF motor in a slightly different design.
