The Chinon Auto 4001 is a fully automated camera for 35mm film.

It has a standard zoom of 35-70mm with a quite unusual gimmick: auto zoom composition. This feature zooms the lens automatically depending on what it "sees" to improve the chosen composition. This feature can also be found on the Minolta Riva Zoom 105i where it is called APZ.

Other than choosing between auto-flash, flash off or fill-in flash there is nothing that can be set manually. The auto composition function can be switched off, the zoom then works normally.

It uses a 2CR5 battery for power.
