In the late 1970s, Bencini attempted to refresh its product line with a new series of cameras for 35mm film. The Comet 635 Electronic Minicompact was perhaps the most sophisticated of these. "Electronic" refers to the CdS meter cell and viewfinder LED display which guides the user to selecting the proper aperture. (The shutter speed is fixed at approximately 1/50 sec., although "B" can be selected using the unusual second cable-release socket on the front panel.)
