The '''Auto Reflex''' is a Japanese SLR taking [[no-need-darkroom]] 3×4cm film sheets, only known from the example shown in {{Sugiyama}}.<REF name="Sugiyama 4022"> {{Sugiyama}}, item 4022. </REF>

The main body is shaped as a box and has a viewing hood above, hinged to the front. This hood has an embossing, which is faintly legible as ''Art Camera'' on the only available picture. This is certainly why the camera is attributed to an otherwise unknown "Art Camera Co." in {{Sugiyama}}.<REF name="Sugiyama 4022" /> The name "Auto Reflex" itself is not visible in the picture.

The lens is fixed-focus, has no diaphragm and is covered by a flap.<REF> No diaphragm: {{Sugiyama}}, item 4022. </REF> The mirror acts as a shutter, and allows to take <U>B</U>ulb or <U>I</U>nstant exposures, selected by an index on the photographer's right.<REF name="Sugiyama 4022" /> The release lever is in front of this index, to the bottom.
