Arae Kōgaku (荒江光学, meaning Arae Optical) was a Japanese company based in Tokyo in the mid-1950s.[1] It made and announced a prototype 35mm SLR camera called Altair in early 1955. It was certainly founded by a Mr. Arae, specifically to manufacture this camera, and left no trace after that date.
