Revision as of 05:32, 1 December 2014

The Alpa Reflex was first made in 1944 using serial numbers starting with 120,000[1] It is one of only a few 35mm cameras made with both reflex viewing and a coupled rangefinder. The lens is an Angénieux 50mm f2.9 in a collapsible bayonet mount. Operating the camera requires a careful reading of the instruction book as settings must be made in the correct sequence. Also care must be taken when collapsing the lens as this can only be done when the mirror is up. There is a lever by the shutter release which raises and lowers the (non-return) mirror. The cloth focal plane shutter has speeds from 1 sec to 1/1000th.
