Action Camera or Action-Cam is a term for small dust-, shock- and water-proof video cameras, ideally designed for attachment to a sports helmet. Thus they allow to document adventurous hiking trough ice, climbing onto rocks, or wild water cayak tours. Many have a still photo option, some at higher resolution than the video function offers.
