½-plate Watson Acme 1889 image by Geoff Harrisson (Image rights) |
The Acme is a folding field camera made by Watson of London from about 1889 until the 1940s.[1] The notes at Early Photography state that the camera was made in several sizes, from half-plate up to 24x30 inch; the notes describe the camera as one of the finest field cameras made. The camera originally had double-extension bellows; a triple-extension model was offered later, as were cameras with shutters and stereo models.
Notes
- ↑ Acme cameras at Early Photography; two half-plate examples are shown, both without shutter and with an 8-inch f/8 Watson Rapid Rectilinear; one of the cameras also has a Ross-Zeiss combinable lens set.
