Buick
The Buick Model-1 is a leaf shutter found on a few Japanese cameras of the early 1940s. It gives T, B, 150, 100, 50, 25 speeds and has the name BUICK-MODEL–1 inscribed at the top of the shutter plate.
This shutter is pictured in McKeown on an unidentified Japanese 6×6 folder.[1] The camera is a horizontal folder, with folding struts inspired by the Balda products. The folding optical finder is centered above the top plate, and the folding bed release is placed to the left, as seen by the photographer. There is an advance knob at the top left and a conical film flange at the top right, and the back is hinged to the right. The overall aspect of the camera has some similarity with Kigawa products. The camera pictured in McKeown has a Kokko Anastigmat 7.5cm f/4.5, and a Tritar Anastigmat f/3.5 is also reported.[2]
The other cameras known with this shutter are the following:
- Heil C, one isolated example, with a Wester Anastigmat 75/3.5 lens[3]
- Kiko Semi, one isolated example, with a Rieze-Anastigmat 7.5cm f/3.5 lens[4]
