Alpa is the brand name of successive generations of high-quality 35mm SLR cameras made by the Swiss maker Pignons.

The original design was called the Bolca Reflex and had been made by Jacques Bogopolsky, who was already the father of the Bolex movie camera (see Bolsey). The rights were bought by Pignons in 1942, who gave the camera the Alpa name.

ALPAs were very expensive hand-made cameras, with many variants that could be made on special order, and most were considered to provide superb image quality. The last one was built around the beginning of the 1980s.

At the end of the 1990s, the Alpa name has been revived for a very high-end medium or large format camera with a modular design to adapt wide-angle lenses.
