The Vivitar TX 28mm f/2.8 Auto Wide-Angle was made by Tokina and marketed by Vivitar. This is a second-generation TX lens, replacing the earlier 28mm f/2.5. The Vivitar Guide, by John C. Wolf, describes it this way:

More of a mid-range wide-angle than the [24mm f/2.8], the 28mm has the same speed and compactness but is used for more normal-perspective situations: interiors and inclusive outdoor shots.[1]
