Hello! Camera-wiki.org is a wiki about cameras, photography, and their history. If you're interested in contributing to it, that's great — welcome!

The next thing to do might be to read some of the Help pages, to get an idea of how to edit pages. Or, if you already know how, just jump in and edit the wiki page that prompted you to register. Maybe you'd like to write something about yourself and your cameras on your User page. Generally, text in the wiki should be in English (though you may find the odd word or phrase of other languages in some articles, where it's relevant).

We have had a problem recently with accounts being created by spammers, to put advertising into the wiki. To combat this, new accounts are blocked if they aren't used fairly soon (within a day or two after being created); and of course an account is blocked immediately if it becomes clear it was created for spamming or vandalism. So please at least write a short reply here to reassure the admins that you're not one of the spammers; otherwise, your account may be blocked.

Ah yes, Canon Powershot G12. But what about it? -- Hoarier 02:22, 5 January 2012 (PST)

Canon Powershot G12

Dear Friend Hoarier

I am going to post alot of articles on canon powershot g12.

No, please don't. Camera-Wiki needs no more than one article on the Canon PowerShot G12. Actually it already has the article. Here it is. Feel free to improve the article. And remember, when you write something, you are also promising us that you wrote it yourself, or that you copied it from a public domain or similar free resource. Do not submit copyrighted work without the explicit permission of the copyright holder. -- Hoarier 06:49, 6 January 2012 (PST)

Welcome! It's so refreshing to see a new user who isn't a spammer! Please jump in and edit that article. The tag {{stub}} at the top of the article is one or more of the previous writers inviting anyone who knows the camera to add to it. --Dustin McAmera 07:44, 6 January 2012 (PST)

I have blocked your account for a week. You inserted some text in Talk:Main page which included a link to a sales site, and your text encouraged people to buy; we call this spamming. This is not what the wiki is for; it is supposed to be an encyclopaedia; a strictly non-commercial information source. The block is only for a week because you deleted the text yourself; normally, we block spammers permanently. --Dustin McAmera (talk) 06:08, 26 July 2012 (PDT)

What is your ideal camera like ?

There are many cameras around but which one is the best and ideal camera for you. (Link to sales website deleted by admin) There is also the new Nokia 808 which is 41MP with pureview. Nikon D800 as a excellent high dynamic range digital slr camera.

The cameras mentioned all are great but the best ideal camera would be canon s100 for you. Why do i say that. Simply to say you would take pictures of places you never been too right. Whether locally or even overseas, you take photos or videos of places that are new to you. But you may not know the place's name or even remember the date and time. There is gps tag for you. With this function your photo and video name is tagged. It also serves as a gps for you to navigate like a map.

Why is it a ideal camera for you? Well it may not be dustproof or waterproof, but still its Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor sensor makes a great difference. SLRS cameras use Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor sensor. So canon s100 is slr camera in nature of photo and video quality.

If you notice that canon s100 is a excellent camera then it is. As compared to previous model canon s95, it has cmos and gps tagging. so it is a real improvement and canon's effort to push out quality cameras.

You still need to know about its control ring. Its control ring adjusts settings and is pretty important for digital slr uses as this technie group like to tweak camera settings. so the control ring is a must have for techies. Even for amateurs its fun. Another advantage would be it is extremely intuitive to control the settings. You get a feeling instead of the robotic computer generated settings. It is important to adjust the settings with a feel rather than just smart auto of canon s100.

Thanks alot Throne

Once again; you cannot advertise on Camera-wiki

Hi again. Once again, you've inserted links to a commercial site (which, from the writing style, I believe is your website, yes?). We do no allow this on Camera-wiki! Look at our articles; they do not encourage readers to buy anything; they simply state a camera's features in an encyclopedia style. This is your Talk page, so I am not deleting everything you wrote, but I have deleted the links to your website. Next, I am going to block your user account for two weeks for spamming; if you link to your sales site again (or any other selling site) you'll be blocked permanently. --Dustin McAmera (talk) 04:52, 10 September 2012 (PDT)
