Welcome to Camera-Wiki.org!

Thanks for creating an account here on Camera-Wiki.org! We appreciate your willingness to help us create the most comprehensive camera and photography encyclopedia on the web. Camera-Wiki.org is a big website, so we'd like to offer a few quick pointers to help get you started.

You also have a profile page that you can edit to tell us more about yourself if you'd like. It's purely optional but it's always nice to get to know another camera lover.

This website uses software called Mediawiki that's also used by WikiPedia. If you already know how to use and edit WikiPedia, you'll feel right at home here. If not, we have special page where you can learn to edit, called the Sandbox. It's a place where you try things out and experiment with no worries of breaking anything.

Old guy camera user. getting back into 35mm cameras and developing some film to scan.

I'm editing and writing pages on the Afga Rapid Film cameras.

I saw a Agfa Rapid Iso-Matic in an article/picture a few months ago (may 2018) and really liked the boxy simplistic style of the camera. After checking ebay and etsy for cameras and prices I bought one to play with. Since then I've bought a few more, different specific models, so I have sort of a collection now. I tend to buy project cameras that I think I can fix. I take them apart and try and figure out what is broken and see if I can fix them.

I've bought a bunch of the Rapid film cassesttes and SL film cassettes (East German version of the Rapid system), and some DCS cassettes. I read an online article about the DCS cassettes being a option for loading film for the Rapid type cameras. I also picked up a Smena SL camera, since they use the SL film cassettes, and its another boxy simplistic camera. I'll be writing more about the cameras I've picked up and taken apart, to help others who get interested in these cameras, to fix or use them in the future.
