Welcome to Camera-Wiki.org!

Thanks for creating an account here on Camera-Wiki.org! We appreciate your willingness to help us create the most comprehensive camera and photography encyclopedia on the web. Camera-Wiki.org is a big website, so we'd like to offer a few quick pointers to help get you started.

You also have a profile page that you can edit to tell us more about yourself if you'd like. It's purely optional but it's always nice to get to know another camera lover.

This website uses software called Mediawiki that's also used by WikiPedia. If you already know how to use and edit WikiPedia, you'll feel right at home here. If not, we have special page where you can learn to edit, called the Sandbox. It's a place where you try things out and experiment with no worries of breaking anything.

Welcome  !

Hello,

Thanks for joining us !

It seems like you're figuring things out already, but we have a FAQ page if you'd like to learn more about the Camera-Wiki. There are also a few Help pages to take a look at.

You might also write a little bit about yourself and your camera interests on your User page http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/User:Krifartida

We noticed that your edits until now are focused on just 1 company and would like to remind you that the Camera-Wiki is a non-commercial foundation and plain advertising is not allowed. I'm sure you'll understand !

Best Regards,

Hello!

Hey - i am real and not a spambot.... RE the one company - i had to start somewhere, and hope to contribute more to other topics as well. After all i am a camera geek just like you :)

RE: Hello

Hello,

Thanks for clarifying things !

Hope you understand our concern. We alas got a lot of new users which only aim seemed to be to advertise their own interests.

Camera-Wiki is always on the look-out for people (camera-geeks) which contribute to our site.

If you have any questions about editing you can always contact one of the Administrators for help.

These administrators regularly watch the Recent Changes Page so it is always a good idea to give a short description about your edit in the Summary field just underneath the Edit field. Any text you give there is visible on that Recent Changes page and that makes life for them easier.

Happy editing !

will do

Cool - will do. I have already added minor bits of info to some camera makes, but will hope to make those pages more detailed and comprehensive. I hope to have time this week to go over the "how to add a photo" article, so i can add more photos.

Minor edits

Thanks for your page on Deardorff. I have corrected a few typos and made a couple of small changes to keep it in line with the general wiki style. One of these was to add detail to your reference, otherwise it just shows as a number with no link detail. You will see that some names that you have put in [[ brackets show in red. That's because there is currently no page for them to link to. If you plan on adding a page for them, then fine. If not then it's unlikely someone else will, so they'll always show in red. Better to remove the brackets if that's the case. Hope this helps! Geoff H (talk) 15:42, 8 November 2014 (PST)

Thanks for the notes and corrections. I do plan to write pages for all those linked items i put in, hopefully sometime this week.

I also hope to have time to expand the Jobo and Deardorff pages with more complete history and relevant general info.
