Hi! Camera-wiki.org is a wiki about cameras, photography, and their history. If you're interested in contributing to it, that's great — welcome! We have a FAQ page if you'd like to learn more about our project.

The next thing to do might be to read some of the Help pages, to get an idea of how to edit pages. Generally, text added to wiki articles should be in English. You might also write a little bit about yourself and your camera interests on your User page.

We have had a problem recently with large numbers of accounts being created by spammers. To combat this, new accounts are blocked if they aren't used fairly quickly (within about a day after being created); and of course an account is blocked immediately if it becomes clear it was created just to put advertising into the wiki. So at the very least, please write a short reply here to reassure the admins that you're not one of the spammers; otherwise, your account may be deleted.

Cheers! --Vox 11:42, 25 February 2012 (PST)

Reply: Dear admins, I'm absolutely not a spammer. I have created my account expecially to give my contribution to the "Durst" section (enlargers, cameras, projectors and other stuff). I'm a collector of Durst equipment, and perhaps one of the major experts about this company's production. Just have a bit of patience and my contibution will appear on this site.

Cheers! Davide

Thanks, Davide, welcome! I hope you've also joined our Flickr group, which is ordinarily where we host photos for the wiki.
P.S. you can "sign" anything you write here automatically, just by clicking the 7th tool button above the window (with the gray signature icon), or typing the tilde character ( ~ ) 4 times.

Thanks again, Vox. I will surely join the flickr group as well... thanks for the advice as well.

Cheers.--Kavavide 07:02, 27 February 2012 (PST)

Durst

Thanks for your additions to the Durst section—it looks like you are pretty familiar with how the wiki works already!

One small request:When you make an edit, it's helpful if you write a short summary of what changed in the small box underneath. This helps other editors who are looking at the recent edits log understand what you're doing.--Vox 12:15, 29 February 2012 (PST)

Thanks again for your advices, Vox. Always welcome. I have made some new edits to the newly-created Durst Gil page, I hope I've made them correctly this time...--Kavavide 17:39, 29 February 2012 (PST)

Looks great! I made a few small phrasing changes, just to read more smoothly in English.
By the way, congratulations: Your new page Cappelli is the 1,200th new article since we launched camera-wiki.org just over a year ago! --Vox 20:39, 29 February 2012 (PST)

Vox, I have to admit that my english is quite poor... Is there someone I can constantly ask to review my edits in order to refine them by a linguistic point of view? Like most of the italian people, I tend to be too wordy and my sentences are always modelled over the italian form. I see you have also rearranged the photos positions. I saw it was not good yesterday night, but it was 3.00 AM in Italy and I was too tired to experiment with photo positioning. Thank you for this as well.--Kavavide 00:44, 1 March 2012 (PST)

No need to apologize—your English is good. (We have many valued contributors whose first languages are something other than English.) If there's ever some text you feel unsure about, you can always leave a note on my talk page; also, Dustin McAmera and Hoarier are both (British) English native speakers. Thanks again, --Vox 06:56, 1 March 2012 (PST)

Silvestri

You are doing good and should continue the Silvestri pages.
