Kanji for koku in "Teikoku"

Here, Teikoku is written 帝國 with an old kanji form, instead of 帝国. Is it intentional? --Rebollo fr 15:04, 8 May 2006 (EDT)

Yes. At a time when the simpler version was the official one (and indeed vigorously promulgated), the company was still using the older one. Or so I vaguely remember: I'll try to check soon. -- Hoary 21:47, 8 May 2006 (EDT)

I don't think it consistently used the old kanji. And if we insist on this distinction, we'll also have to worry about the distinction between 光学 and 光學 ... so let's not worry about it. Yes, I've changed it back to 帝国. -- Hoary 04:19, 29 May 2006 (EDT)
