Where is the evidence the V3000 was made by Cosina?

The V3000 chassis is a Yahsica FX-3 chassis not a Cosina CT1.

I believe Cosina manufactured both the FX-3 and V3000, as well as a number of variants. The FX-3 was not a Yashica design as far as I know, just a branded Cosina. Cosina was outsourcing their manufacturing to various Chinese firms at that time, Phenix may well have been one of them. I'm not aware of any direct connection between Vivitar and Phenix during that time period. I'd be happy to see evidence of either claim but I'm not aware of any. If we can get serial numbers from some V3000s bodies, that might help as I believe Vivitar was still using their SN Id system on some gear. Steevithak (talk) 16:55, 6 July 2020 (UTC)

I'm finding the chronology of the V3000s and V3000 perplexing. About the only thing that's clear is that unlike other Vivitar SLRs, the "s" variant doesn't mean a self-timer. You can find stray V3000s examples in silver (here, here), with a different (newer?) grip style like this Phenix. So far I've not seen a black V3000 anywhere, nor one with the swoopier grip style. And what's a V3000N??--Vox (talk) 04:09, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
