A "system"?

The Sony α system is a camera system which comprises two different autofocus lens mounts.

I can't see how it is a "system", with any meaningful interpretation of "system". To me it seems merely a matter of branding: Sony calls "α" the cameras for which it charges more money. Or perhaps it's the combination of two systems.

I'm happy to be shown to be wrong, if somebody can rewrite this article to make it easier to understand. Zuleika 02:25, 7 April 2011 (PDT)
