Pictures commented out

I commented out two pictures hosted on Flickr whose status is unsure. I left a comment in the corresponding Flickr pages: this one and this one to ask the owner of the picture if he put it him/herself in the page. --Rebollo fr 05:59, 27 June 2006 (EDT)

I decommented one of the pictures (this one): its owner is willing to put it in Camerapedia. --Rebollo fr 05:06, 8 August 2006 (EDT)
I decommented the other picture too (this one) because the owner added it to the CP pool. --Rebollo fr 15:16, 8 August 2006 (EDT)

I reversed the caption for Rollei E and T so it matches the picture. -- freiser 15:00, 10 October (EDT)

The link for "Picture Gallery using a Rolleiflex 3.5 Automat" is broken. Should it be removed? -- freiser 15:00, 10
Hi again! Yes, that should go (and I've removed it). With some really good links it's worth commenting them out, in case the site reappears; but in this case, it looks like this was only a gallery of example photos. I don't think our readers are in bad need of a gallery to show what square format looks like, and the web doesn't usually display images with the quality needed to judge how good a Rolleiflex is. Again, for really useful links that go down, some of our editors hunt for an old saved version on the 'wayback machine' facility (at archive.org, I think); see the links section of the quality standards page. The page seems to be against simply deleting dead links, but I'm pretty ruthless, if they really are dead.
By the way, it helps if you sign your comments. If you click the signature button (fifth button from the right at the top of the editing panel) '--~~~~' appears in the text. When you save it, that will appear as your username and a timestamp. --Dustin McAmera (talk) 12:49, 11 October 2012 (PDT)

Page name?

I added a note at the top, acknowledging that Rolleiflex is not just the name of TLRs, and wikilinking to the Rollei article, where thera are links to cameras of other types called Rolleiflex (Rolleiflex SL66 etc). I was tempted to change the name of this article to something like Rolleflex TLR cameras, but thought that would make it less findable. Probably, people coming to this page really want to see the TLRs, and the next thing to do on this page is add more text about them; but it would be good to improve awareness of those other types.--Dustin McAmera 03:22, 16 November 2011 (PST)
