I thought this kind of layout might look nicer for pages like this with camera ranges that have a lot in common. Also wondering if that wikipedia style right side column is needed for all pages as on some it just looks weird. Putting the table of contents in a basic table gives you the ability to align it and put it where you want as well which is nice. --Morinaka 11:23, 13 February 2012 (PST)

We also use Template:RightTOC on a few pages, which saves typing the table markup. Also __NOTOC__ suppresses it entirely.--Vox 12:37, 13 February 2012 (PST)
OK, i know about NOTOC as i've used it on the smaller pages, but with longer pages it's quite useful to have the TOC. I was interested in an opinion on the layout as i was thinking of using it for the polaroid 100-400 series page. --Morinaka 14:38, 13 February 2012 (PST)
I've been in touch with a number of folks who are highly knowledgeable camera experts, but who find MediaWiki markup alien and confusing, and this inhibits them from contributing to the project. So I'd advise restraint about using "fancy" markup which might make it difficult for later editors to understand and modify the page contents. If moving page elements around dramatically improves clarity, then it's probably fine. --Vox 15:39, 13 February 2012 (PST)
