There is some uncertainty regarding the launch date on these Minolta XE cameras:
One source says 1975 for all the models: XE, XE-1, XE-7 and XE-5
Another closer to Minolta says 1975 for XE-1 and 1976 for the XE-5
A third one on 35mm SLR's 1975 for the XE-7, XE-1 and XE-5
A Japanese source say 1974 for the Minolta XE
No one specifies for what region the dates apply.
I have chosen the source closest to Minolta, although this might concern Europe only.

- The official 50-year history says Nov. 1974 for the XE (and export XE-1 and XE-7), Jul. 1975 for the XE-5 (export only), and Nov. 1976 for the XEb (Japan). Similar dates are given in three Japanese magazines on Minolta, focused on the Japanese market and mainly mentioning the XE and XEb. These dates certainly correspond to the official disclosure; the camera may have hit the shelves a month or two later, notably on foreign markets. --rebollo_fr 16:16, 1 June 2009 (EDT)
