Etymology of Doris
Niimi says in his book about the etymology of camera names that "the Doris was named after its maker, Mr Motodori (本鳥): "Dori's camera", thus "Doris"." But does he say which of the Doris cameras he's alluding to? Is it the postwar 4.5×6 folder or the prewar 3×4 models?
It seems logical that the prewar Doris were made by this Motodori / Nissan company too, and that it used the name again after the war, but there is no evidence for the moment.
