The QZ35 cameras were titanium-bodied point-and-shoot models from Rollei, styled by F.A. Porsche and offered in two versions. The QZ35W version had a 28–60 mm zoom (offering greater wide-angle coverage) while the QZ35T included a 38–90 mm lens (offering more telephoto reach). These were large and substantial cameras compared to the typical autofocus compact, particularly as electronic flash was available only as a separate, matching unit. It has a metal focal-plane shutter with speeds of up to 1/8000. It can be used in fully automatic or manual mode. It has program mode along with manual, shutter and aperture priority exposures modes. The top of the camera does not have a hot shoe, instead it has a LCD, and two dials one for shutter speed and the other for focusing distance. Press down onto the dial and it will raise allowing you to turn and change the settings. The dials also have a noticeable clicking sound. The lens barrel has the A (auto) mode setting as well as aperture settings. There are many settings that can be changed that are not common on compact 35mm cameras. The lens cap features a remote controlled shutter release. Quartz date back is standard. The camera uses 2x 3v CR2 battery and the flash unit uses 2x CR123A.
