The Olympus OM-D E-M5 was the first Japanese mirrorless digital system camera with a body design that resembles that of a legendary 35mm camera system, i.e. the Olympus OM SLR series. The camera's launch in 2012 was the start of the Olympus OM-D camera series for the Micro Four-Thirds system.
