The Olympus IR-500 is a 4.0-megapixel ultra-compact digital camera introduced by Olympus in 2004.

It was one part of a photography system called i:robe and Dock & Done which has additional accessories such as the S-HD100 40GB hard disc and P-S100 dyesub printer. The camera has a 1/2.7" CCD based sensor is capable of capturing images of 2288 x 1712 in JPEG. It features a 6.2 – 17.3 mm, (40-112mm 35mm equivalent) 2.8x zoom lens, and a 11x digital zoom mode is also available. The LCD display is a 360° swiveling 2.5" with 206,000 pixels. Media can be recorded on to xD cards. It is powered by a Olympus Li-12B rechargeable battery.
