The Mec 16 SB is a viewfinder camera for 10x14 mm pictures on 16 mm film in special cartridges. It was made from 1960 by Feinwerktechnik GmbH of Lahr in the Schwarzwald, Germany. It is an improved version of the Mec 16. It differs most importantly in the addition of a built-in Gossen lightmeter: it is the first camera to offer through-the-lens metering.[1] The camera also has a different lens, a 22 mm f/2 Rodenstock Heligon, one stop faster than the Mec 16's f/2.8 Color-Ennit.

Notes

  1. Stated by Martin Kohler in his web article on cameras by Apparate und Kamerabau at his website on 3D photography. Kohler suggests that Dr Eugen Armbruster of AkA moved from that company to Feinwerktechnik, and was probably involved in the development of the Mec cameras.
