Instax instant film was made available in 1999, for Fuji's line of instant cameras.
It replaced the previous Fotorama ACE series. Similar to the Fororama series, it is still based on Kodak Instant film technology. Four formats of Instax film and cameras are available the wide, mini, square as well as a pivi format which is similar in size and appearance to the mini format but works with Fuji's line of Pivi portable printers.

Instax wide
Instax wide film has a ISO of 800 and has a image size of 62mm x 99mm. The entire picture unit is 86mm x 108mm. It is most commonly distributed in ten exposure per cartridges in single, double or five packs. It is compatible with the following cameras:

Instax mini
Fuji Instax Mini film is compatible with Instax Mini cameras, Polaroid mio cameras and Polaroid 300 cameras. The film and cartridge for each is exactly the same and are interchangeable. The film is half the width of Instax Wide. The image size is 62mm x 46mm, while the picture unit is 86mm x 54mm. It is most commonly distributed in ten exposure per cartridges in single, double or five packs. There are many special edition variations of this film, they consist mostly of cartoon characters printed on the frames.
