Harwix, also known as Optische Anstalt Ewald Harwix and later Harwix Feinwerktechnik GmbH, was a German optical and precision mechanics company in Berlin (later West Berlin). At some point it was taken over by Heinrich Manderman and became a subsidiary of his Beroflex company. Harwix from September 1968 produced the metered TTL "Examat" finder for the 35mm Exakta cameras, developed and constructed in Dresden by Richard Hummel (apparently at VEB Pentacon and not Ihagee) on order from Manderman. Later it produced the finders for the Exakta 66 camera, another Manderman project.
