G.A. Krauss was a company trading and manufacturing photographic goods. It was founded as Stuttgart's first photography retailer in 1895 by Gustav Adolf Krauss (*27.5.1863 +3.5.1929). From about 1906 until 1912 it sold the stereo camera Krauss Polyscope, which was actually build by Zulauf.[1] From 1920 to 1934 the company produced own cameras, the most important being the Rollette.

The founder's brother Eugen Krauss (*1857) was a camera maker from the same family, but based in Paris. Gustav Adolf's son was also named Eugen (*1901), who took over the company in 1929 after his fathers death. He was the main inventor behind the quite innovative and sophisticated Peggy camera, which was produced from 1931. Camera production ceased in 1935 due to economic reasons, but the dealership continued.

The shop in Stuttgart and its branches in the region were sold by the founder's grandson Rolf H. Krauss in 1991 to Photo Porst.
