Ducati (the same company that is much better known for motorcycles) made two half-frame 35 mm cameras in the years after the Second World War.[1] The company was founded in 1926 in Bologna, by the Ducati family and other investors, as Società Radio Brevetti Ducati (Ducati Radio Patent Company); Adriano Ducati held patents in the field of radio components such as condensers (capacitors).[2][3]
Cameras were among several alternatives investigated by Ducati during and after the War, with a view to civilian business. At about the same time, Ducati took over a small company that had patented a small motorcycle.[4]
Cameras
- Simplex: a half-frame 35 mm viewfinder camera.
