What is meant by "hidden categories"? --NihonCamera 09:12, 2 May 2011 (PDT)

I am hardly an expert on Categories: But as I understand it, these categories have their appearance in the page footer suppressed, by adding _HIDDENCAT_ to the category page. The main use is for "image-by" categories, which otherwise would bloat the footer with multiple, and long, category entries. I believe it is U. Kulick who set this up and who may understand the subtleties better. --Vox 09:25, 2 May 2011 (PDT)
