Canon's PowerShot S2 IS is a 5 Megapixel digital camera introduced in 2005. It features a 12x optical + 4x digital zoom. The lens is a 6-72mm f/2.7-3.5 (35mm equivalent 36-432mm). Like many other PowerShot cameras, the 1.8" LCD screen hinges out and swivels. A EVF is also provided. Unlike the previous Canon PowerShot S1 IS that uses CompactFlash, this camera series changes over to Secure Digital cards for media storage. The connectivity port has also been updated to faster USB 2 specification. Power is provided via 4x AA batteries. The Canon PowerShot S3 IS is the successor to this camera.
