The Beier Precisa IIa is a dual-format self-erecting folding camera for 120 film, introduced by Beier in 1956. It has an uncoupled rangefinder, combined with the viewfinder in the same eyepiece. The measured distance can be read in a very small window on the camera's top. The window shows a distance value from a scale that is imprinted on the rangefinder's thumb-wheel. The turnable front lens element allows focusing from ca. 90 cm to infinity. The camera has a Ludwig Meritar 1:3.5 f=75mm lens, with front-element focusing to about 90 cm. The shutter is a flash synchronised Tempor or Junior leaf shutter. The shutter release button is on top of the camera, beside the rangefinder. Inside the camera has hinged film spool holders to facilitate film unloading. A 4.5×6 mask can be mounted inside. The camera has red windows for each format, with covers. The viewfinder frame can also be adjusted for the square or rectangular format by means of a little slider beside the eyepiece.
