There are two cameras named Austral: both are box-form detective cameras.
- Joseph Zion of Paris made a camera named Austral in about 1899. It was offered with either a falling-plate or drawer-magazine plate-changing mechanism.
- Baker and Rouse of Melbourne made (or perhaps imported) falling-plate cameras named Austral.
Baker and Rouse also made plates under the Austral brand: the company was originally the Austral Plate Company.
