The 28-135mm Hexanon was one of the last lenses introduced in the line, in the early to mid-1980s. It was designed by Konica and built to their specifications by Tokina. It was also later sold to fit other manufacturers' cameras, under the Tokina name.

This might have been the first successful design to cover this popular range of focal lengths - wide to normal to moderate tele - and serve as a sort of "one lens, walk-around kit". Today many manufacturers have a lens in their system that emulates this design to some degree.
