Carl Zeiss Jena made some of the Contax lenses developed for the Contax rangefinder camera in M39 mount. They were mostly sold during the war and are quite rare. All were in chrome finish, with a slim barrel and rangefinder coupled, unless noted.

  • 28/8 Tessar
  • 35/3.5 Herar (seen at photographica auction Rahn #2, and Christies 5/11/1992)
  • 50/1.4 Biotar (1931)-Rigid black enamel finish (1931)and
fitted for:-
  1931- Leica I Interchangeable"Model C" non-standard
        in uncoupled/non-standard mount.
  1931- Leica I Interchangeable "Model C" standardised(28.8mm)
        in uncoupled/standard mount. 
  1932  Leica II "Model D" in coupled/standard mount.
        and also produced in 1938/40 in very limited numbers 
        (about 46 examples only,finish-chrome?)
       This lens is not known in CONTAX fitting mount.
