The Yashica YL is a 35mm rangefinder released by Yashica in 1959.
It features a single parallex compensating split image viewfinder. The optics systems consist of a 4.5cm Yashinon ƒ2.8 lens with a Copal MXV shutter. There is another variation with a ƒ1.9 lens with a Copal SVL shutter. The shutter speeds are 1s, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500th with "B" setting. Aperture range is from (1.9), 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16. A depth of field scale is on the lens mount. The lens also features a EV scale. A self-timer is included, it has a delay of approx 8 seconds. The film advance lever is a single stroke design.
The rewind crank is located at the base of the camera. To use; turn the RA dial on the base to R to release the tension, then flip up the rewind crank turning in the direction of the arrow. When complete; lower the crank back in place and turn the dial back to A.
