The Vivitar 135mm f/3.5 T-4 mount lens was marketed by Ponder and Best (Vivitar) in the late 1960s. It was part of a family of T-4 mount lenses. The T-4 mount could be adapted to most commonly used camera mounts of the era. A lens review in the February/March 1969 issue of Camera 35 magazine notes the similarity of the Vivitar T-4 family to the Soligor T-4 lenses. It is believed both the Vivitar and Soligor T-4 lenses were designed by Tokina with slight customizations made to the specifications of each company. The review had this to say about the 135mm f/3.5 lens:

Besides being just a few dollars less expensive and one half a stop slower than the 135mm f/2.8 T-4 lens, this 135mm f/3.5 is a little bit sharper. Just a bit. In fact, I think that with average picture taking situations, you probably would not be able to tell the difference between the results ... Being somewhat lighter than the faster version, it may be a bit easier to tote around in your gadget bag.[1]
