Velbon is a Japanese manufacture of tripods and was originally established in Kobe (神戸市) on March 11th 1955[1] as Sansei Photo. The company was split into two parts shortly after, Hakuba Photo and Velbon. The origins of the name Velbon comes from the words very and bon (good in French). The name sounds like ringing a bell in Chinese, so the brand Golden Bell is used in China.
