"Peculiar behaviour" of the metering system? Not really! Miranda SLRs with TTL metering all had a limited coupling - including the 1971 Auto Sensorex EE, and the 1974 Miranda TM, and the 1975 Miranda RE-II. The same is true of the 1969 Canon EE EX and the 1975 Canon TX. I am sure there are many more examples where the meter sensitivity did not encompass the maximum and minimum limits of available lens aperture and shutter speed combinations across all film speeds. This doesn't make the ST601 peculiar.

1976 Canon AE-1 is another example. See page 15 of the user manual - Part 2. Then there is the 1971 to 1981 Canon F1. See page 25 of the manual. The 1980 Nikon f3 also has limits to the meter coupling range. With 800 ASA film the lowest speed available is 1/8th, 400 ASA film = 1/4th, 200 ASA = 1/2, etc.

For the reasons given, I have editted the description of the ST601 meter. --Johnbear (talk) 22:02, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Yes, thank you. "Peculiar" wasn't the right word, because it implied, that the ST601 is the only camera with this feature, which is not true. I find the hint at this limitation helpful, because if you are new to this camera, you may think that it can't be operated properly. --Joerg Krueger (talk) 14:06, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
