Fukuoka branch
The ads reproduced in Kokusan kamera no rekishi show that Doi Shōten first became Nittō Shashin Yōhin (November 1952 ad), then moved to Tokyo and opened a branch in Fukuoka (other ads on p. 123). This is conflicting with a sentence that I commented out:
"Doi Kimio (土居君雄), son of the Mr Doi of Doi Shōten, started a branch in Fukuoka (福岡市博多区冷泉町, Fukuoka-shi Hakata-ku Reisenmachi) at some time around 1956. In 1959 this became Doi (株式会社ドイ, Kabushiki Kaisha Doi)."
I think that the Fukuoka branch opened in 1953 might be the one opened by Doi Kimio. The address does not match, perhaps because the given address is valid at a later date. Could you please check again with the source that you used?
