Vivitar?

Should Vivitar be included here? There are a many lenses in this mount with the Vivitar name on them. One might argue that Vivitar was not really a maker of lenses. But they apparently did design lenses, or commissioned lens factories to design a lens to the Vivitar specification.

Yes, it would make sense to add a "Vivitar" section, provided that an explanatory sentence clearly states that it was not the maker and that the lenses had various origins. --Rebollo fr 13:37, 5 March 2007 (EST)
I agree. Vivitar lenses should be listed. We also could refer to the list of manufacturers.--LucisPictor 13:17, 31 December 2007 (EST)

Beauty lens

I notice a surprising 15–100/3 Zoom-Biokor lens by Beauty. What is this beast? I would be surprised if it covered the full 24×36mm frame. --Rebollo fr 11:06, 16 May 2007 (EDT)

Xenon chrome?

Anyone has seen the Schneider Xenon 50mm chrome version which appears in the list? I have looked for in eBay for some time and I have only found it with Exakta bayonet. --gatonuevo 15:09, 18 February 2009 (EST)

Hello. It's me who added the lens to the list, in this edit dated March 2006. I suppose that I saw the lens for sale somewhere. Unfortunately, I was not keeping sufficiently detailed records at the time, and cannot confirm the existence of this version today. --Rebollo fr 09:10, 24 February 2009 (EST)

Well, it's also with Alpa bayonet and the common for the Kodak Retinas, and other fits.

Anyway, is very probable that has also been released for M42; practically all the lenses that were made for Exakta also were made for M42, at least in a limited emission.--gatonuevo 08:05, 26 February 2009 (EST)

adding brands

I have added Vivitar and Revuenon in this section. I wondered if it would be appreciated to add more brands, i.e. Panagor, which are not on this list. On the other hand: there are so many rebranders on the market, that this list would perhaps become too long. Please share your opinions! Thank you, and take care!

Missing Brands . . .

Looking at an old issue of Modern Photography, November 1977. On page 142 starts the section "1978 Interchangeable Lens List". There is a listing here for a 21mm f/3.5 Chinon in PC mount ( used for the designation of M42 mount in this issue ), Auto diaphragm and with a list price of $ 195.00. .
.
Just had a search for such a Chinon lens. There came up several hits on such a 21mm f/3.5 lens made by Tomioka but also with the text "Auto Chinon" on its name ring. Guess it could be this Tomioka lens which is already listed. Best Regards Hanskerensky (talk) 12:51, 16 August 2015 (CDT)

Hans, even if so, I would suggest to add in brackets of as a foot note so that this info is not lost..--Heritagefutures (talk) 16:56, 16 August 2015 (CDT)
Hans, this particular article lists over a 1,000 lens the 24mm was the first I saw. Maybe Tomioka made it but then maybe Chinon did indeed make it, the only way to know for certain is if Chinon's records ever become public ( that's assuming they still exist ). Re-badging was/is more common than we probably realize.
