Sources: Old Japanese writing
In the original Japanese documents written before 1946 or so, the writing system is slightly different from today. The main differences are:
- old kanji forms
- some old kana characters that since fell in disuse
- a greater number of differences between kana usage and pronunciation
Here are some common words whose writing has changed:
