The Cyber-shot DSC-V1 is a digital camera released by Sony in 2003.

It uses a 5 megapixel 1/1.8" CCD sensor. This produces images with a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944. Images are recorded in jpeg format with either standard or fine compression. A TIFF file can also be recorded, but since Tiff are large, it takes much longer to process and transfer the image to storage.

It has a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar 4x zoom lens. There are 16 steps in the zoom range. It can focus from 40 cm, but in macro mode can reduce this to the 10 to 40 cm range. The focus assist is not the traditional type, it uses a grid pattern that Sony calls "Hologram AF". This cameras features the usual common automated shooting modes, but also uses infrared for "NightShot" and "NightFraming" modes. NightShot is the typical green tinted photo, while NightFraming mode differs by using Hologram AF and the flash to calculate proper exposure resulting in a more natural colour photo. There is a pop-up flash with a range of 0.5 to 3.5m (ISO 100) as well as a hot shoe. The back has a 123,000 pixel colour LCD screen. Along with the LCD screen there is a basic optical finder with a 84% view. It uses Memory Stick Pro for storage. A 32MB stick is usually included. Connectivity is with USB 2. Power is with a rechargeable InfoLithium NP-FC11 battery.
