Sony Alpha NEX-5

The NEX-5 was Sony's first mirrorless camera body, introduced together with the NEX-3. These were also the first models to use the new Sony E-mount. It was available in black or silver. The camera body is a sturdy metal construction. Technically it has the same capabilities as the NEX-3, but enhanced by a Full HD video mode.
Due to the extremely short distance between lens and sensor image plane it is virtually possible to adapt many different kinds of lenses by means of corresponding adapters. When the Sony NEX series was launched in 2010 it lacked a greater choice of appropriate AF lenses. Thus the launch of the NEX-5 and NEX-3 boosted the request for MF-lens adapters. Until today many adapters are available.
And the camera has an MF-aid: The focus-peak system shows sharp focused areas highlighted, which makes it a joy to use old manual lenses again on a NEX. The color and intensity of the peaking highlights are adjustable to personal liking.
