The Sony Alpha DSLR-A380 is a DSLR made by Sony. It wasn't among Sony's top cameras anymore when it succeeded the Sony Alpha DSLR-A350 in 2009. The S380 together with the simpler A330 and A230 built the entry-level camera line of the Sony α system, the A700 and A900 were the top models, and the A450, A500 and A550 were the offers for the advanced enthusiasts, taking the place of the A350. That whole entry level camera line A230, A330 and A380 suffered a redesign for stylishness. The ergonomic grip of all the other Sony cameras was omitted for that whole sub-series of the system.

Like the A350 the A380 features a 14.2 megapixel CCD sensor, a tiltable 2.7 inch LCD screen, and live-view functionality. Its "super-steady shot" mode gains some f-stops more flexibility by reducing shake by anti shake movement of the image sensor. It weighs just 490 g.
