The Sekonic Studio Deluxe model L-398 is a hand held light meter released in 1976. It is an improved version of the Sekonic Studio L28 series meters. This particular model design is directed related to the Director line of meters originally created by Donald W. Norwood and cinematographer Karl Freund.

Studio Deluxe II

A newer model L-398M Studio Deluxe II, released in 1989 improve the readability of the meter by having slightly larger printing. It was replaced by the L-398A Studio Deluxe III released in 2006.
