Theodor Scheimpflug (October 7, 1865 - August 22, 1911)[1] was an Austrian officer (Hauptmann) in the Austria-Hungary navy[2]. He did a lot of research and engineering in the field of early Photogrammetry and is best known for the use of his name in the Scheimpflug principle.

He also engineered and build some aerial cameras for the purpose of Photogrammetry of which his 7- and 8-cameras units are best known. He himself did call these Panorama Apparat Scheimpflug Model I and Model II[3].
