The SamsungSR 4000 was Samsungs first and only SLR for 35mm film and was launched in 1997 and discontinued in 2002. The SR 4000 was the export name, in Korea it was sold as Samsung Kenox GX-1.

Shooting modes include program, shutter priority, aperture priority and a metered manual mode. The shutter speed is from 30 sec to 1/400 of a sec. It has a pop up flash. The self timer has a single or two shot mode. Automated film transport system with single or continuous film advance. Auto film loading and rewind.

The bayonet mount was almost identical to Minolta AF. Three lenses were available:

  • Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon 50mm 1:1.4
  • 28-70mm 1:3.5-4.5
  • 70-210mm 1:4-5.6
