Rulex was the name of a leaf shutter made by the Japanese company Neumann & Heilemann.

Variants

In the late 1930s and early 1940s, it was offered in two variants called Rulex A and Rulex B. The A was the more expensive version and the B was the cheaper one. The A version had T, B, 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250 speeds until 1940 then T, B, 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 150, 300 speeds. The B version had T, B, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 150 speeds until late 1939 and T, B, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200 speeds from early 1940.

Cameras equipped

The name Rulex already appeared on the shutter plates of some German cameras in the 1920s, it is unknown if it was the shutter name or the model name, and it is unknown if there was a relationship with the Japanese Rulex shutter.
